Accountant

Our client, a multinational with a branch in Gent and Rotterdam, is looking for a motivated accountant to join their finance department. As an accountant you will be working in a dynamic and innovative environment which facilitates professional growth and values a good work-life balance. • Manage accounting transactions of specific legal entities.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing process for complex legal entities.
• Prepare corporate income tax calculations and entries.
• Manage the group and statutory audits of the entities in the scope including liaising with external auditors.
• Support special projects and assignments in accounting aspects.
• Communicate with other departments within finance.
• Act as the contact person for local service providers and resolve issues as required.

Profile

• A master’s degree in accounting or related fields, preferably CPA or CA degree.
• Experience in accounting or auditing, ideally in a multinational.
• Knowledge of US GAAP & German GAAP is essential.
• Some expertise in German taxes is a bonus.
• Experience in process automation is of advantage.
• Practical knowledge of key systems like SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI.
• Fluent speaker and writer in both English and German.
• A proactive person with a flexible mindset, determine d to get the job done.
• Not afraid of working in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• A problem solver with analytical skills.
• Ability to make decisions autonomously.
