Business Tester

As a Business Tester, you’ll ensure the quality and reliability of these tools by managing testing at various levels. With agile practices increasingly at the forefront, your expertise in traditional and automated testing will be vital in maintaining smooth, multi-release workflows.

• Defining Test Plans
  • Reviewing business requirements and clarifying details with business analysts.
  • Drafting comprehensive and precise test plans.
• Designing Test Scenarios
  • Translating requirements into detailed test scenarios and test cases.
• Preparing Test Data
  • Setting up test environments with synchronized datasets.
  • Requesting data refreshes or creating artificial test data when needed.
• Executing Tests
  • Running test cases and documenting results with accuracy.
• Managing Defects
  • Logging defects and closely monitoring their resolution.
• Automating Tests
  • Implementing automated test cases after each release to enhance efficiency.

• Required Skills
  • A master’s degree in a technical or economic field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in preparing and executing functional and end-to-end tests.
  • Proven ability to define test plans and elaborate test scenarios.
  • Familiarity with process flows and class diagrams, with knowledge of BPMN and UML.
• Preferred Skills
  • Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with tools like Jira and Enterprise Architect (Sparx).
  • Background in the energy sector or “infrastructure engineering & construction” projects.
• Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions.
  • Capable of working independently while thriving in collaborative environments.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Languages
  • Mandatory: Fluency in English.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Dutch and French (fluency in both is a strong advantage).
